Margo’s diptychs

In 2008, the Peruvian association Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (Lima) contacted me to shoot for a national campaign, focused on gender-based violence and women rights. I already knew the association for having collaborated with them two years before, during a volunteer period.

I contacted a Polish Italian artist, Malgorzata S. Szymko and together we decided to wok on the concept of identity and self. Instead of depicting humiliation and harassment through the signs of violence – as usual – I preferred to shoot freedom through erotism and loneliness, which was also a key factor in the concept: in fact, several pictures from this series portray the model playing and looking forward her own identity, in the plastic “double”, represented by a mannequin.
